• Parents are advised to drop students off along New Brighton Drive.
  • Do NOT use the school parking lot for drop-off or pick-up.
  • The parking lot is reserved for staff members ONLY.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Parents are encouraged to walk their child to school or, if driving, to drop students off along New Brighton Drive. Students who arrive late must use the front doors for entry.

Each classroom or grade has a designated entrance door; however, students may use the door that makes the most sense at arrival time. For example, during rain or extreme cold, they are welcome to use the nearest entrance. At dismissal, students will exit through their designated doors.

Families with siblings are encouraged to decide on a common meeting spot outside where they can connect before walking home together at lunch and/or after school.

Please note: The school parking lot is reserved for staff only and must not be used for student drop-off or pick-up.

Parking Around Schools: Photo Enforcement

Calgary Parking Authority is helping to make school areas safer for our students and school communities. Here’s what you should know.

  1. The Calgary Parking Authority is now using photo enforcement in addition to Enforcement Officers in school areas
  2. Tickets may be received in the mail or placed on vehicles that are in violation of parking regulations.
  3. You must follow posted signage, even if you remain in your vehicle.

Parking responsibly around schools is very important for the safety of the students attending these schools and members of the community.

TIPS: Avoid Parking Fines

  • Stay back at least 1.5 metres from entrances to garages or driveways
  • Watch for “No stopping” and “No parking zones"
  • Keep school bus zones clear
  • Leave five metres between your car and crosswalks
  • Park at least five metres from stop signs, yield signs or intersections

Traffic Safety

Ensuring our students get to school safely is everyone’s responsibility. Please be mindful of crosswalks, parking rules and speed limits when you are near our schools, especially during the morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times.

Traffic Safety Reminders from The City of Calgary

The City wants to remind and encourage anyone who is driving children to school to operate their vehicles safely and responsibly. Parents and guardians are reminded not to park where it’s prohibited during drop off and pick up times, such as blocking crosswalks, laneways and private driveways.

Pick up and drop off times can get quite busy. Give yourself extra time to navigate safely around schools, whether you are walking, wheeling, or driving. For those who drive, help alleviate congestion by parking a block or two away and walking in, wherever possible.

Talk to your kids about safe travel practices like using crosswalks with patrols, looking all ways before crossing the street and not jaywalking across the roadways as a shortcut.
