Dear New Brighton Families,

What a wonderful week at New Brighton School! We have so much to celebrate and so many reasons to be proud of our amazing school community.

Today, we had a special assembly hosted by our Parent Council to celebrate the winners of our Read-a-Thon and share our incredible results. Together, we raised an amazing $24,626 and read 192,154 minutes! Thank you to all of our students, families, and staff for your enthusiasm, participation, and support. A huge thank-you to our Parent Council for organizing and supporting this wonderful initiative!

Our Great Pumpkin Event was another fantastic opportunity to see the creativity and imagination of our students and families. We loved seeing all of the unique and wonderful pumpkin creations on display, and we hope the event provided families with an opportunity to spend some fun time together and make some great memories.

Earlier in the week, our Grade 3 students had the exciting opportunity to explore the zoo and learn more about the amazing animals there. It was a wonderful experience for our students!

A quick reminder: Please remember to pick up your pumpkins from the school today. Any pumpkins that have not been collected will be left outside the front doors for families to pick up.

With Halloween just around the corner, we wish everyone a fun and safe time celebrating! For students heading out to trick-or-treat, remember to stay with a trusted adult, use sidewalks and crosswalks, look both ways before crossing the street, and make sure you are visible to drivers. We hope everyone has a spooktacular Halloween!

Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you for being such an incredible part of the New Brighton School community!

Remembrance Day

New Brighton School will be having this year’s Remembrance Day Assembly on Tuesday, November 10th. There will be two assembly times to accommodate all of our students and parents/guests that wish to attend.  The first assembly is at 9:45 and the second assembly is at 11.  Both assemblies will be the exact same, and our Grade 3-5 choir will be singing at both of them.  If you are planning on attending one of the assembly times, please arrive on time to prevent disruptions during the assembly.  Parking may be a little challenging that morning, so please give yourself a few extra minutes.  Choir students are reminded to wear a white top and black bottoms.  A poppy will be provided for all choir students.  If you have any questions, please email Ms. Lysak at jclysak@cbe.ab.ca

Fees

Central fees will be posted directly to students’ PowerSchool accounts. These fees include the student supply fee, noon supervision fee, and school bus fees for students who ride the bus daily. These fees are assigned to student accounts centrally by the CBE.
