Dear NBS Families,

Today, our school had the joy of hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Tea to honour the incredible individuals who give their time, energy, and hearts to support our students and staff all year long.

From helping in classrooms, organizing materials, supporting school events, and chaperoning field trips, to simply offering a helping hand whenever it's needed, you make a big difference in the lives of our students!

The tea was a lovely gathering filled with delicious treats, warm conversations, and special performances by our students to show just how much our volunteers mean to us. It was our small way of saying a big THANK YOU for all that you do.

To all of our volunteers: your kindness and commitment help make our school a brighter, happier place. We are truly grateful for you!

With appreciation,
The Staff of New Brighton School

Sport Day – Friday June 6

Sports Day is one of the most anticipated events of the school year! It's a day filled with fun, friendly competition, and team spirit as students participate in a variety of games and activities designed to get everyone moving and cheering each other on.

Please don’t forget to bring sunscreen, water bottles, and lots of school spirit!

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will move the date until June 13th.

Volunteers Needed!
We’re also looking for volunteers to help with setting up, running stations, and keeping the energy high throughout the day. If you’re available, please sign up here:

Let the games begin—we can't wait to see everyone out there having fun and showing great sportsmanship!

 Reminder to Pay Your Fees

If you haven’t reviewed your myCBE account recently, we kindly ask that you take a moment to log in and check for any outstanding fees. This is the platform where families pay for school field trips and activities.

Currently, we have over $2,000 in unpaid or late payments. Please note that field trips and activities are cost-neutral, meaning the school does not make a profit from them. If unpaid fees continue to accumulate, we may be forced to limit the number of trips and activities offered throughout the year.

If you need assistance accessing your myCBE account, you can click here  or contact our office at 403-817-3516.

Yearbooks

Our yearbook order has been sent to the printer! To help reduce the cost, we’ve ordered a limited number of extra copies, which will be available for purchase through the main office @ 403-817-3516.

If you missed the original order deadline and would still like a copy, please contact the office as soon as possible to reserve one—quantities are limited and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis

Field Trips and Fun Lunches

We have several field trips scheduled during the final month of school, and some of these overlap with our Fun Lunch dates. If you’re planning to order Fun Lunch for your child, please double-check their schedule to ensure they will be at school that day.

Please note the following:

  • Grade 5 students attending Outdoor School and Grade 4 students visiting Heritage Park on June 12 will be away and will not be at school for Fun Lunch.
  • Grade 1 students from Chen and Russell’s classes are going to Ralph Klein Park on June 19 will also miss Fun Lunch.

If you’ve already placed an order and your child will be away, you may contact Healthy Hunger to cancel the order or arrange to pick up the lunch at the school before 1:00 p.m. Please keep in mind that we do not have space to refrigerate unclaimed lunches.

Thank you for your understanding!

Are You Moving?

Families or individual children who will not be returning to New Brighton School for the 2025-2026 school year are requested to let the school know as soon as possible by calling the office at 403-817-3516 ext. 0. Informing the school of your intentions to transfer will facilitate the smoothest transition possible.
