Dear NBS Families,
Today, our Grade 3 team hosted a celebration assembly, followed by a visit to the McKenzie Towne Retirement Home, where students performed songs for the residents. It was a wonderful success, and the residents truly enjoyed the musical performance. We were lucky enough to be there for one of the residents' 100th birthdays, so Ms. Lysak led the group in the Happy Birthday song to Ms. Peggy.
With the warmer weather, we’ve seen our bike and scooter racks reach full capacity as more students choose active transportation to get to school. We love seeing this healthy and eco-friendly choice! Please ensure your child has a lock to keep their bike or scooter secure.
We’ve also noticed some students riding without helmets. This is not only unsafe but also a violation of the City of Calgary bylaw, which requires all children under 18 to wear a helmet while cycling. Parents can be fined for non-compliance, so we kindly ask for your support in reinforcing this safety rule.
Lastly, we remind students to use all available spaces in our designated bike and scooter racks before resorting to securing their rides to fences or trees.

Are You Moving?
Families or individual children who will not be returning to New Brighton School for the 2025-2026 school year are requested to let the school know as soon as possible by calling the office at 403-817-3516 ext. 0. Informing the school of your intentions to transfer will facilitate the smoothest transition possible.
2024-2025 Yearbook Deadline to Order – May 16th
The deadline to order yearbooks for the 2024-2025 school year is Friday, May 16. For instructions on ordering, please click here. We may not have additional copies this year; do not miss out. Order yours today! Yearbooks will be distributed in June. If you are unsure if you have already purchased a yearbook, feel free to contact the office.

Fun Lunches
The next fun lunches are Booster Juice on May 8th, Noodle box on May 15th and Coco Brooks on May 29th. If you are interested in ordering a fun lunch for your child please make sure to get your order in by the Saturday of the week before.
