Dear NBS Families,

Yesterday, our Grade 5 students visited Dr. Martha Cohen School for a tour and to learn about the exciting opportunities awaiting them in Grade 6. Next week will be a busy one: our Grade 3 students will be heading to the zoo, three of our Grade 2 classes will visit the Bow Habitat Station, and our Grade 5 students will take part in two in-school experiences—one focused on forestry and another on coding.

Sharing Back | School Planning

Thank you to everyone who participated in our school planning engagement. We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together.

The feedback we received is compiled at the links below and will be thoughtfully considered in making decisions about school planning.

Volunteer Tea

Parents/Volunteers, we are so thankful to have you volunteering your time in our school this year.  Volunteering happens in many capacities, both in the school and out of the school.  We would love to celebrate you on Friday, May 30th, and you should have received an invitation from your child this week.  Please remember to email Ms. Lysak at jclysak@cbe.ab.ca to confirm your RSVP so we know how many of our amazing volunteers are intending on coming.

Thank you,

Ms. Lysak

Are You Moving?

Families or individual children who will not be returning to New Brighton School for the 2025-2026 school year are requested to let the school know as soon as possible by calling the office at 403-817-3516 ext. 0. Informing the school of your intentions to transfer will facilitate the smoothest transition possible.

New Brighton School Parents Association & School Council Update

🌲 Grade 5 ECO Camp Field Trip – Final Fundraising Total!

Thanks to the amazing generosity of our school community and amazing grade 5 parents, we raised an astonishing $18,812.23 for the Grade 5 ECO Camp!

This incredible amount ensures every student is able to attend, provides coverage for a substitute teacher for those who opted out, and cuts the cost in half for all remaining students.

We are beyond grateful—thank you for making this possible!
