Dear NBS Families,

What a wonderful week it has been at NBS!

Our Mary Poppins musical was a huge success, and the turnout from families was fantastic. The weather gave us the perfect window to get the performance in, and our students truly made us proud. Their hard work, confidence, and enthusiasm shone through on stage and made for a memorable evening for everyone in attendance.

A very special thank you goes to Ms. Lysak and the many staff members who supported her throughout this journey. Their countless hours of planning, organizing, rehearsing, creating sets and costumes, and supporting students over the past five months made this production possible. Their dedication, creativity, and commitment created an incredible experience and many lasting memories for our students and their families.

The students were also able to perform again on Friday morning during our Volunteer Tea, where we had the opportunity to celebrate our amazing volunteers. Our volunteers are the backbone of our school community, helping in classrooms, supporting special events, assisting with field trips, and contributing in countless other ways throughout the year. We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and care they give to our students and school.

Thank you to everyone who attended the performance, volunteered throughout the year, and continues to support our NBS community. We are fortunate to have such an engaged and caring school family.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Patrick Murphy

New Brighton School Used Book Sale

New Brighton School will be hosting our fourth annual used book sale for students from June 23rd until June 25th. Our school will be collecting gently used children’s books that are appropriate for children aged 5 to 11. Families can start bringing in used books starting Monday morning. Below are some guidelines regarding book donations:

- Please make sure books are appropriate for children aged 5-11. This includes picture books and chapter books.

- Books need to be in good, used condition. This means no rips or stains.

- There is no limit to how many books can be donated. Students can either bring books into the classroom or donate them in a book bin at the front entrance each morning until June 20th.

On June 23rd to 25th, students at New Brighton School will be given the opportunity to purchase books from our used book sale. Books will all be priced at $1 each. If you wish to have your child purchase a book, please send money with your child in a small Ziploc bag on June 23 and 24 (ideally with their name labelled on it). The money collected will be used within the school to support student learning and will be used for new resources within the library.

Thank you for your support with New Brighton’s used book sale. We appreciate your support and book donations.
