Dear NBS Families,
The final week of the 2024-25 school year has been filled with fun and excitement! We kicked things off with Pyjama Day on Monday, followed by Dress Like a Teacher Day on Tuesday, and wrapped up with Beach Day on Wednesday. Our five kindergarten classes also enjoyed a special outing — they took a City Transit bus to the Seton Public Library, where they loved exploring the books and discovering new stories.
On Tuesday, we held a farewell assembly with all students to say goodbye to several staff members who are leaving New Brighton School. While these goodbyes are bittersweet — as we will truly miss them — we are excited for the new opportunities that await them:
- Mrs. Chen, Grade 1 Teacher – moving to Midnapore School
 - Mrs. Olivia Gall, Educational Assistant – relocating to the West Coast
 - Ms. Foster, Grade 1 Teacher – retiring
 - Mrs. Noeth, Educational Assistant – concluding her temporary contract
 - Mrs. Clare, Resource Teacher – moving to Midnapore School as Acting Assistant Principal
 - Miss Vila Dyler – concluding her temporary contract
 - Ms. Lang, Teacher on Leave – not returning to NBS

We are also pleased to share some wonderful news regarding our staffing for next year. Our long-time temporary teachers, Mr. Paul Butt and Miss Madison Russell, have been hired into two of our vacant positions. We are so happy that they will continue to be part of the NBS team.
In addition, we are excited to welcome Ms. Justine Stone to NBS. Justine has spent the past two years teaching in Mexico and is now returning to the Calgary Board of Education.
Lastly, we are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Jennifer Stables, who is already well known to our school community for her previous work with us as an artist in residence.
Over the summer, we will continue working to hire another teacher to complete our staff for the 2025-26 school year.
Thank you for your continued support, and we wish all of our families a safe and happy summer!
Library Books – All books need to be returned
We are still missing a lot of our library books. Please return them tomorrow.
Reminder to Pay Your Fees
If you haven’t reviewed your myCBE account recently, we kindly ask that you take a moment to log in and check for any outstanding fees. This is the platform where families pay for school field trips and activities.
Currently, we have over $2,000 in unpaid or late payments. Please note that field trips and activities are cost-neutral, meaning the school does not make a profit from them. If unpaid fees continue to accumulate, we may be forced to limit the number of trips and activities offered throughout the year.
If you need assistance accessing your myCBE account, you can click hereor contact our office at 403-817-3516.
Thank you for your understanding!
Are You Moving?
Families or individual children who will not be returning to New Brighton School for the 2025-2026 school year are requested to let the school know as soon as possible by calling the office at 403-817-3516 ext. 0. Informing the school of your intentions to transfer will facilitate the smoothest transition possible.
