Dear Families,
It was another busy week at NBS, with our Grade 1 and 2 classes out of the building on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, visiting the Bow Habitat Station and the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area. They could not have picked better dates for being outside in January, with temperatures staying above freezing.
We welcomed some very tired—but happy—students back at the end of each day, along with some equally tired parent volunteers who helped make these trips such a huge success. We are very grateful for their time and support

Kindergarten Registration for September 2026
Kindergarten registration opened on January 12, 2026. Registration is NOT first come first served. Everyone who submits a completed registration form online will be eligible for the kindergarten for the 20026-2027 school year. Typically, New Brighton School holds a random draw for AM/PM placement preference as our AM classes usually have higher demand and we need to balance our student numbers between the morning classes and afternoon classes. To be in the draw for AM/PM preferences,, you will need to have your registration completed before the draw date which is March 19, 2026. All registrations after March 19, 2026,, will be placed in PM classes.
For more information about kindergarten registration,, please see the CBE registration guide by clicking here.
