Dear Families,
With the recent freeze–thaw cycles, our sidewalks, parking lots, and nearby roads can become icy and slippery. We ask families, students, and staff to please take extra care when walking or driving to and from school. Wearing proper winter footwear, allowing extra travel time, and watching your step, especially in shaded areas, can help prevent slips and falls.
Thank you for helping keep our school community safe during the winter months.
Stay safe and upright,
Patrick Murphy
Kindergarten Registration for September 2026
Kindergarten registration opened on January 12, 2026. Registration is NOT first come first served. Everyone who submits a completed registration form online will be eligible for the kindergarten for the 20026-2027 school year. Typically, New Brighton School holds a random draw for AM/PM placement preference as our AM classes usually have higher demand, and we need to balance our student numbers between the morning classes and afternoon classes. To be in the draw for AM/PM preferences, you will need to have your registration completed before the draw date, which is March 19, 2026. All registrations after March 19, 2026, will be placed in PM classes.
For more information about kindergarten registration, please see the CBE registration guide by clicking here.
Field Trip Payments
As more field trips are coming up, we kindly remind families to ensure all field trip fees are paid online through the MyCBE Account payment system. Field trips are an important part of student learning and provide unique, hands-on experiences that cannot be replicated in the classroom. When fees are not fully collected, the school runs a deficit—last year, this amounted to several thousand dollars. In order to continue offering these valuable opportunities for students, we need families to stay up to date with their payments. If you have any questions or are experiencing difficulties with online payment, please contact the school office for assistance. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Thank You, Bow View Ringette Association!
We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Bow View Ringette Association for their generous donation in support of Ringette Day in NBS. They provided a full set of student jerseys and a full set of staff jerseys for our Staff vs. Students game, helping make the event exciting and memorable. In addition, they donated four sets of goalie pads and several goalie sticks for our Physical Education program, allowing all students to safely experience and learn more about ringette. We are very grateful for their continued support of ringette and our school community.
Lunchroom Supervision fee has been added to PowerSchool
The CBE provides students with the option to stay at school for lunch. Lunch Supervision is offered to all students in Grades 1- 6 and in our full-day kindergarten programs for an annual fee. Please see this link for more information on payment options.
