Dear NBS Families,

Last night, our Parent Council organized a fantastic Family Dance, and it was a huge success! The animal theme was a crowd favourite, and our students had a blast showing off the dance moves they learned during last week’s Dance Residency.

As you may have heard, our Grade 5 students have been given an exciting, last-minute opportunity to attend the YMCA ECO School for a four-day, overnight trip at Camp Chief Hector in Kananaskis. While this trip comes with a significant cost, our students, staff, and Parent Council have come together to launch several fundraising initiatives to ensure that every Grade 5 student who wants to attend can do so, regardless of financial barriers.

So far, they’ve held a successful Popcorn Tuesday, which they plan to continue as a weekly event for the next few weeks. Upcoming fundraising efforts include a bottle drive, a 50/50 raffle, a special Booster Juice Fun Snack, and even Ice Tea Stands set up by students in the community to help reduce costs for all attendees.

Grade 5 Fundraising

The Grade 5 team and students are diligently working to raise funds in hopes of attending an exciting week at Camp Chief Hector this June. To help lower costs for all families and provide financial assistance to those in need, we will be organizing a variety of fundraising activities at school.

Our first event was "Toonie Tuesdays at NBS! Popcorn Fundraiser," kicking off this Tuesday and continuing for the next three Tuesdays. Grade 5 students will be selling bags of delicious popcorn during both Division 1 and Division 2 lunch times, with the goal of raising additional funds! Our kindergarten students will also be given a chance to purchase a bag during their time at school on Tuesday.
