Dear NBS Families,
Today, we hosted our Sound Kreation performances, and our students were in top form as they shared their new moves with our parent community! A vibrant mix of Hip Hop and African dance was performed by all our classes, from Kindergarten to Grade 5. Their passion and enthusiasm were unmistakable, evident in their bright smiles and contagious energy that filled the room. Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and enjoy the show!
Opportunities like this wouldn’t be possible without the incredible fundraising efforts of our Parent Council/Association. Their support covers the cost of residencies like this one, ensuring that every student can participate. These experiences allow us to bring talented individuals with unique expertise into our school and expose our students to activities they might not otherwise encounter.
Grade 5 Fundraising
The Grade 5 team and students are diligently working to raise funds in hopes of attending an exciting week at Camp Chief Hector this June. To help lower costs for all families and provide financial assistance to those in need, we will be organizing a variety of fundraising activities at school.
Our first event, "Toonie Tuesdays at NBS! Popcorn Fundraiser," will kick off this Tuesday and continue for the next three Tuesdays. Grade 5 students will be selling bags of delicious popcorn during both Division 1 and Division 2 lunch times, with the goal of raising additional funds! Our kindergarten students will also be given a chance to purchase a bag during their time at school on Tuesday.
Are You Moving?
Families or individual children who will not be returning to New Brighton School for the 2025-2026 school year are requested to let the school know as soon as possible by calling the office at 403-817-3516 ext. 0. Informing the school of your intentions to transfer will facilitate the smoothest transition possible.

Fun Lunches
The next fun lunches are Subway on April 17th and Coco Brook on May 1st. If you are interested in ordering a fun lunch for your child please make sure to get your order in by the Saturday of the week before.
