Dear NBS Families,
It is that time of year again when our resident ducks return to nest around our school grounds. Students were excited to see our brave—if not always wise—mallard pair return to their favourite garden box at the front of the school. This provides a wonderful and authentic opportunity for students to observe nature up close. Last year, we were fortunate to witness the full cycle from nesting to eggs to ducklings. In previous years, it has also provided opportunities to learn about natural life cycles and predators.
As we welcome this experience again, we remind students to observe from a respectful distance and avoid disturbing the ducks or their nesting area. We appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of caring for wildlife and respecting their space.
We look forward to sharing this learning experience with our students once again!

Food Drive
New Brighton School is hosting a Food Bank Drive from April 20–24, and everyone is welcome to participate!
Simply send in non-perishable food items to the school with your student and help our donation boxes fill up.
The grade that gets the most donations will win an extra recess. Each class will be challenged to make a structure with the boxes and cans that will be judged a student leadership group. The winning class for each grade will win a popcorn party. We can not wait to see what designs the classes come up with
